GENERAL INFO
This weekend is planned and run by the Jewish Youth Network. We are excited to run this event for the entire Hamakom community. Please plan to arrive at Lake Cachuma (2225 CA-154, Santa Barbara, CA 93105) by 4pm Friday, May 16th and leave at 10am on Sunday, May 18th.
AGES
Teens in 8th-12th grade are able to come without their family. The Jewish Youth Network will be responsible for them throughout the weekend. Children/teens younger than 8th grade, are required to attend with a parent/guardian or family. Families with kids of any age are invited to attend as well.
ACTIVITIES
The teens of the Jewish Youth Network are working to provide a fun filled weekend with classic camping activities, bonding, and more. More details on activities coming soon.
CAMPING GEAR
All those attending this camping trip are responsible for bringing their own camping gear. Including but not limited to tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, etc. If your family is attending, and has a motor home, this is an option for lodging. Teens attending without family will receive additional information regarding gear.
LODGING
Everyone attending will have the option of lodging in a tent or motor home. Motor home lodging is only an option if you/your family has one or wants to rent one on your own. Teens in 8th-12th grade attending without their families will be sleeping in tents separated by gender. Depending on the number of teens attending and our available supplies, it will be a few larger tents or a bunch of smaller ones. If you are attending as a family or just adults, please feel free to do what is comfortable for you. As mentioned above, families/adults will be responsible for their own gear. Teens will be provided with some gear from JYN.
FOOD
All food during this event will be certified Kosher. We will provide Shabbat dinner, Shabbat lunch, Saturday night dinner, and snacks throughout. Families will be responsible for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. Teens that are coming without their family will have breakfast as a group with the Jewish Youth Network. In addition to meals, we will have plenty of snacks throughout the weekend.
SAFETY/SUPERVISION
In addition to parents, there will be weekend staff (ie youth staff, JLC staff, rabbis) chaperoning and will serve as direct resources for all those attending.
