Leora Raikin: "The David Labkovski Project: Art As An Antidote to Antisemitism" 

Leora Raikin is an artist, international speaker, author, and the Founder and Executive Director of the David Labkovski Project (DLP), which combats antisemitism and educates about history through the art of her great-uncle, David Labkovski (1906-1991). The DLP’s educational programs are distinguished by their foundation on a collection of over 400 pieces of David Labkovski’s artwork, which offer a lens into Holocaust history and transfers responsibility to students, empowering them to act as docents and curators of Labkovski’s legacy.

She has been a keynote speaker at West Point U.S. Military Academy and has presented the DLP’s exhibit, Documenting History Through Art, across South Africa, Mexico, Australia, Lithuania, and Europe. Under her leadership, the DLP has partnered with over 100 organizations and implemented the program in Los Angeles Unified Schools, with students from 40+ high schools participating in its Student Docent and Leadership Program.

Leora’s dedication to Holocaust education has earned her prestigious recognitions, including being named "Woman of the Year" in 2024 by Senator Henry Stern and being honored by the California State Legislature in 2023. Through Labkovski’s art, the DLP fosters empathy, historical awareness, and student leadership, ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust continue to educate and impact future generations.

Shabbat Dinner will be a Mexican Fajita buffet.
