Our music Zamru Shabbat Service in the round begins at 6:00 pm. Shabbat dinner begins immediately following the service at approximately 7:15 pm (RSVP below), and the speaker begins at 8:00 pm.

Tonight's service is led by Rabbi Camras with Shahar Weiner and Benny Djubass. The dinner speaker is Siamak Kordestani of ELNET, whose program is entitled "Ensuring Israel's Security in a Turbulent Era."

Ensuring Israel's Security in a Turbulent Era
As NATO and Ukraine's future hang in the balance, Israel continues to fight a multi-front war against Iranian proxies. The firestorm sparked on October 7, 2023, continues to burn a blaze through the Middle East. Israel's fight against Hamas is approaching its most critical phase. Meanwhile, European states are scrambling to bolster their defenses against an emboldened Russia, amidst a realignment in transatlantic relations. Kordestani will explore how Israel's efforts to strengthen relations with Europe and Abraham Accords countries are critical to Jewish state's security and economy.

Siamak Kordestani
Siamak "Sia" Kordestani is the West Coast Director of European Leadership Network (ELNET-US),  which brings together leaders to foster close relations between Europe and Israel based on shared democratic values and strategic interests. 

He is the former Assistant Director of the American Jewish Committee's Los Angeles Regional Office, where he worked on international relations, legislative affairs, interethnic/interreligious ties, donor relations and leadership development. Previously, he was Senior Legislative Assistant to Congressman Brad Sherman in Washington, DC, advising him on foreign policy, trade, labor, immigration, and energy. He also worked for the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade.
